What am I reading?
Published by butercup on Sunday, April 03, 2005 at 4:41 pmI love reading. I spend more time reading than doing pretty much anything else apart from sleeping. So what defines a favourite book? Well .. it has to be well written. Gripping, surprising (the first time anyway) and able to be read more than once.
Here's a smattering of the books I've read and enjoyed more than once ..
The complete Sherlock Holmes collection (Arthur Conan Doyle);
The Hobbit and LOTR (JRR Tolkien);
HHGTTG and the Dirk Gently books by Douglas Adams;
All Neal Stephenson's works - though I haven't had time yet to read the Baroque Cycle more than once, but I am planning to do so before too long;
The Outlander series (Diana Gabaldon);
and stuff by several other sci fi / fantasy authors like Magician by Raymond E Feist, the Childe Cycle by Gordon R Dickson, and Roger Zelazny's Amber series.
I'm always on the lookout for new books to add to my collection - so recommend anything you like :)
